Robot Framework

Robot Framework is a keyword-driven automation framework which focuses on acceptance testing. The keywords can be used to describe a test case that is readable for developers as well as business representatives. This way testing can become a whole team approach, since the test cases can be described by everyone in the team. For the interaction Robot Framework needs to have with a browser, we have chosen to use Browser Library.

Browser Library

Browser Library is a browser automation library for Robot Framework. The key advantages that we see:

• Browsers incorporated within package
• Automated waiting for elements before interaction
• Speed compared to for example Selenium

Allure Report + MinIO

We use Allure Report for test reporting. Allure Report mainly appeals to us, because:

• It can track history and therefore trends
• The report looks aesthetically pleasing
• There is an integration with Robot Framework

We use the following steps in our pipeline to generate the report:

1. We get the history from previous runs from MinIO
2. We create an executor file for the pipeline
3. We generate the report
4. Send the report to MinIO (this way we can view the report in the browser)
