Harbor setup
The general goal for the usage of Harbor is to store images and charts that are created by an application in a pipeline.
A Harbor project should be separated into two groups: short and long retention. The short term group is meant for storing images and charts for the dynamic namespaces, while the long term group is meant for storing official releases of images and charts. We have configured the short retention group to only keep the last used tag at cleanup. This cleanup task executed automatically once every 24 hours. The long retention group has no automatic cleanup.
The following naming guidelines must be followed for this group:
| Group | Naming convention |
|---|---|
| Short retention | <top group>/development/<application set name>/<image/chart name> |
| Long retention | <top group>/release/<application set name>/<image/chart name> |
